It’s Halloween! Try out this Pumpkin Bread Recipe

She gave me this recipe after I tasted a piece of this bread at her house – very Yummy!

Dry ingredients

2 cups (500 mL) whole wheat flour

1 1/3 cups (200 mL) all-purpose flour

2 tsp (10 mL baking soda

1.5 tsp (7 mL) cinnamon

1 tsp (5 mL) nutmeg (or replace with cinnamon if you don’t have nutmeg)


In a big mixing bowl:

.5 cup (125mL) canola oil

.5 cup (125 mL) applesauce

4 eggs

.5 cup (125 mL) sugar

2/3 cup (160 mL) milk or water

2 cups (500 mL) pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling!)

.5 cup (125 mL) chocolate chips

.5 cup (125 mL) raisins

Add dry ingredients to wet (add chocolate chips and raisins after you’ve mixed the batter). Pour into 2 loaf pans. Bake 50 minutes to 1hr at 350 degrees F.
