Just got back from Arizona and had a great time there last week. Aside from the usual canyons we toured a small town on the advice of my cousin Tamara, called Jerome. It was amazing! Tiny town of perhaps 3 main streets (be prepared to walk up and down as it is very hilly). Great little shops and restaurants. We stopped and reserved a table (highly recommend reserving if you go) at a restaurant called Quince. Clearly it was the place to go for meals as it was hopping busy when we arrived and we managed to only wait about 10 minutes and got two seats at the bar. What a great experience!
The person at the bar was wonderful and very attentive as we watched him shake rattle and roll out the margaritas. Our meals were done in about 5-10 minutes and served with a smile. We both had salads and were thrilled with them. Fresh, light and delicious. Each of our salads had chicken added for some protein served with a lime cilantro dressing. YUMMY!!!
The restaurant is decorated in a completely kitchy manner with turquoise walls and painted cattle skulls a la Georgia O’Keefe style but funkier. The room was packed and everyone was having a good time. The owner let me photograph a couple of dishes before we left so I could blog about it. He also told us he was opening another place across the street shortly. Don’t know if it will be the same style of food or what he is doing – he was so busy I could only grab his attention for a minute or so.
I highly recommend this place and the town for a day trip if you are in the area. Lovely way to spend the day.
